Hi there,
I am an Australian passport holder and will be entering Thailand via a bus through the Cambodia border. I will be spending 19 days in Thailand.
As I will be entering by land and spending more than 15 days in the country, I understand I need a tourist visa. Could you please tell me if there are any forms I need to fill out before coming to the embassy in Sydney?
Also, am I able to get a visa on behalf of someone else?
Do you pick up the visas on the same day you apply for them?
Is there anything else I need to know before travelling to the embassy to apply for my visa tomorrow?
You can fill out the visa application form when you visit the Thai Embassy or Consulate near you. The visa processing time may take 2 to 3 days. In regard to getting a visa on behalf of another person, it is best if you can directly talk to someone from the embassy to verify if this is possible.

Hi,
My name is Jing and I am hold Chinese passport. I tried to call the phone number the website provides but it doesn’t seem to work. I have two questions.
I am planing to trying to Thailand on the 30th of Janurary 2016 for 4-5 weeks and will go back there again the on the 16th of July for 15 days. Where should I go to get a visa for the trip? I am living in QLD.
I am currently hold bridging visa B for Australia. Will I be eligible to grand a arrive on visa?
You will need to apply for a visa to travel to Thailand for 5 weeks. Please contact or visit the Thai Embassy in your location for information on the visa application process.
Hi, I am visiting Thailand for 1 week in February 2015. My Australian passport expires 6 months and 1 day after I return to Sydney. Do I need to renew my passport before I travel to Thailand?
Thank you
The passport validity requirement to be allowed to enter Thailand is 6 months. If you are making a trip to Thailand and your passport is less than the required validity, then you will need to renew your passport prior to travelling.
I have just retired (67) fromm teaching high school maths. My wife is taking a year’s leave (she is a primary school teacher and a qualified and experienced ESL teacher). We pan to go to Chiang Mai and base ourselves there for a few months. We would like to do various trips to Laos, Cambodia, etc. We may wish to do some work whilst in Thailand – we are not seeking remuneration – teaching, volunteering in an orphanage or elephant sanctuary. But, basically and importantly, my wife and I have no set plans. Our tickets are return to London, stopping in Bangkok. After spending some time in Europe, probably over July to September, we wish to return to Thailand and remain till the end of the year. What type of visa do you advise? Many thanks.
Since you are planning to be engaged in some type of work while in Thailand, you will need a proper type of visa with valid work permit. But if you will just be staying in Thailand to live here (no working of any kind involved), then you may apply for the retirement visa. To know more about your visa options, please leave your phone number and we will have a Thai Visa Specialist contact you for further advise.
