If you are staying for less than 2 weeks, you do not need a visa. You can get visa on arrival at the Bangkok airport. If you wish to stay for more than 2 weeks, you MUST apply for a Thai tourist visa from the Thai embassy in Canberra.

I am an Australian travelling to Thailand in 3 months and am doing an internship and volunteer work for 6 months, though potentially less or more. Would you recommend the new 6 month tourist visa as the best option and do I need to come to the Thai Consulate in Brisbane to apply? Also how long does the visa generally take to approve, is it granted on the day the application is handed in?

There is no Thai embassy/consulate in Brisbane. I suggest for you to contact the Thai embassy in Canberra or the Thai consulate in Sydney and apply for the 6-month multiple entry tourist visa.

Hello I am thinking of having a three month visit to Thailand as a Tourist. Do I apply via the Consulate in Brisbane or can I apply whilst in Thailand at the Immigration office in Bangkok?

You’ll need to apply for the visa at the Thai Embassy or Consulate outside Thailand.

It is highly recommended that you consult with a lawyer who has the knowledge and experience in dealing with divorce case in Thailand. If you can provide us with your contact details, we’ll have a Thai lawyer who’s expert at Family Law in Thailand contact you for further advise.
