Unfortunately, there is no update yet from the Thai government or from any of the Thai Consulates or Embassy in Australia regarding your concern, and therefore we are not able to advise you on this matter.

    Good afternoon,
My daughter who currently is a Thai citizen and holds a Thai ID card and passport is trying to obtain birth registrations for her two children who were born in Australia. As the Thai consulate in Brisbane has now closed it has been somewhat difficult to get guidance in completing this. We have completed the application form and have tried to register the births directly in Thailand. However we were informed by the authorities in Thailand it would be easier to do in Australia on our return as it would be quite a protracted and arduous process to do it in Thailand. Your timely advice and how we may best resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards and thank you

    Niel

Most of the child who are eligible for the Thai citizenship are lodging the registration of their birth at the Thai Embassies or Consulates in the country where they were born. For information on the process, we advise that you directly contact the Thai Embassy in Canberra. You may click the link below to go to their website.

If a person has pending court date after new year can they still travel to Thailand even though their passport hasn’t been cancelled? Bail conditions don’t stipulate that they can’t leave the country.

As long as you are not blacklisted from entering Thailand and you meet the criteria for a certain type of visit, you should be allowed to travel in to the country.

Is the Thai Consulates in Brisbane still closes? I’m planning to travel to Thailand on 23rd October. Where shall I access a Thai Visa to travel?

    Thank you

After checking my online status of the processing of my Thai passport it says “currently processing” what does this mean? And also how long after this do they post it out?

If the status shows “currently processing”, then that means your passport is not yet ready for pick up and is still being processed. The current processing time for a Thai passport is normally between 6 to 8 weeks.
